The Richmond Food Truck Court, which started its Tuesday and Friday schedule at the Virginia Historical Society in April, expanded in July to Chesterfield Towne Center on Wednesdays and to Hardywood Park Craft Brewery (2408 Ownby Lane) on Thursdays. "Food Truck Court is Richmond's version of food truck gatherings in [places like] New York, Portland or L.A.," says organizer Patrick Harris, owner of the Boka Tako Truck. "They're people who sell different types of cuisines." There is no admission fee, and the hours at each location are 6 to 9 p.m. throughout the summer, Harris says. Besides Boka Truck with its Asian-Mexican-American "takos," vendors include Sustenance Truck (selling gourmet sandwiches and soups), Rooster Cart (vegan fare) and Mister Softee (ice cream sundaes) among others. The food trucks attending may vary from week to week. Patrick Murtaugh, co-founder of Hardywood Park, says that local beer will also be provided at the brewery on Thursdays (outside alcohol is not permitted).
