The 35th Hanover Tomato Festival will celebrate one of Virginia's favorite foods on July 13. Get competitive in the festival's many contests, including best original tomato recipe and best homemade salsa. If you're a Hanover resident, you can test your green thumb against others in the best-tasting Hanover tomato contest. "If the weather's good, then we're expecting around 40,000 people to be there, and over 200 vendors have registered for booths," says Hanover recreation program director Marcy Durrer.
