Those with a taste for the Richmond Folk Festival can curb their hunger, literally, with good food at the first Richmond Folk Feast. It takes place at The American Civil War Center at Tredegar Ironworks on Oct. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. and features nine of the city's culinary craftsmen from restaurants such as Pasture, Heritage and Secco Wine Bar, all sharing their signature dishes. Chefs will showcase tapas-style plates while discussing recipes and food preparation with guests. The event celeberates "a symbiotic relationship between great food and great art," says festival director Lisa Sims. Complemented by musical entertainment from James Justin and Co., the event will also debut Folktoberfest, an exclusive Wild Wolf Brewing Co. draft beer. With $100 tickets selling online, the fundraiser helps cover the $1.4 million Folk Festival budget to keep the event free.
