The coveted Hofheimer Building rooftop at 2816 W. Broad St. has finally been claimed. According to a news release from Carter and Annie Snipes, the owners of the historic Hofheimer Building in Scott's Addition, MOSAIC Catering + Events will take over a large portion of the 14,000-square-foot former rug building early next year, with an event venue that will boast the city’s largest outdoor patio, and the first rooftop event venue in the neighborhood. The new MOSAIC digs will also feature a large loft-like space and a smaller indoor art gallery, which will host curated, rotating works by local artists.
“The event venue concept came directly from community feedback and we’re excited the idea came to fruition,” Annie Snipes of Snipes Properties, the building's developer, says in the release. “We felt the rooftop was a great asset to the building and the effort it took to get it worked into the design was definitely worth it.”
MOSAIC, which will still maintain its other venues, says the new space is already booking events in 2016, citing weddings, corporate events and private parties as examples of what to expect there. The events and catering company will join Peter Chang's first fast-casual concept, which will also open in the Hofheimer Building in spring of 2016. According to Snipes Properties, the third, ground-floor tenant is currently in negotiations.
