There will be some North Side teenagers out of a job and the rest of us will have to go without our baklava sundaes. What is tentatively being called an electrical fire (the fire department will have to complete their investigation before the cause can be determined) broke out around 2 p.m. today. The only employee there at the time, Kellor Wilson, was unharmed and was busy removing all of the ice cream with other employees from Kitchen 64 next door this afternoon. Jenkins Restoration was already on the scene, assessing the situation, and manager Chelle Bravo, who still seemed to be stunned by the calamity, says that owner Johnny Giavos is optimistic. He hopes to have the shop open again in a few weeks. Check back for more news as it becomes available.
