Local residents interested in volunteering for research studies can now connect with researchers nationwide by joining ResearchMatch.org. Last July, the VCU Medical Center joined a consortium of 55 institutions across the country in the first national, disease-neutral, volunteer-recruitment registry. "It makes it possible for research subjects to navigate and investigate possibilities," says Dr. John Clore, associate vice president for clinical research and principal investigator for the Center for Clinical and Translational Research at VCU. "It just opens up the possibilities for participation in clinical trials." For more information, visit researchmatch.org.
