Devoted paranormal investigators Steve Dills and Rhonda Montgomery rely on arsenals of sensitive equipment and years of experience in their ghost-hunting exploits. But perhaps most critical is a strange brew of both leeriness and open-mindedness, Dills says. "We go about it from a skeptical approach," he says, adding, "If someone's not willing to open up to the idea that there's something else, they never will [be]." Along with several other members of the Transcend Paranormal investigation team, Dills and Montgomery organize about a half-dozen nighttime events at presumably haunted sites, such as Henricus Historical Park (pictured) in Chesterfield County. This month, the team returns to Hanover Tavern in Hanover County to reveal findings from a previous ghost hunt there. It's open to the public at a cost, and proceeds go to the tavern.
