Richmond may be losing the Braves, but it has gained a professional cycling team — spotted here on a training ride in late March along Riverside Drive. With a lineup of local and national sponsors, the seven-rider Richmond Pro Cycling squad recently planted roots here and launched a 70-race season that will take the cyclists all over the country. Craig Dodson, the team's founder, says the group plans to run a number of youth cycling programs when the crew's not competing. The team entered the pro ranks this year, after several members climbed to a second-place national ranking among semipro cycling teams last season.
