Hopewell residents seeking hospice care no longer have to drive 24 miles for in-hospital attention with the opening in August of a new hospice wing at John Randolph Medical Center. "Anytime patients do not have to leave their community, it's beneficial," says Suzanne Beauvoir Jackson, chief executive officer of the HCA Virginia hospital. The four-bed hospice cluster offers private suites that have been designed to provide comfort and the feeling of home, Jackson says.
