Maybe your ideal escape from the daily grind is fly-fishing in the Allegheny Highlands or hiking up to one of Southwest Virginia's mountain peaks. Perhaps it's soaking in a warm, bubbly pool at one of the oldest spas in the nation, exploring the meadows of Middleburg on horseback, dining on farm-to-table cuisine or enjoying tea and scones after a tennis match at a country villa outside Charlottesville. These are just a few of the enticements at the four resorts we visited. With spring headed our way, it's an excellent time to discover a new corner of our beautiful state.
