In November, New York-based custom apparel shop T-Shirt Studio opened at 3037 W. Cary St. in the space formerly occupied by Richmond Sports Gear. "It seemed like an ideal location," store manager Hadi Shaikh says of the 1,500-square-foot Carytown shop next to Modern Artifacts. The screen-printing studio will press stock designs on T-shirts in a few minutes; custom designs can take up to two weeks. The RVA logo is selling fast on T-shirts, sweatshirts, collared tees and onesies, Shaikh says, adding that he thinks the VCU-printed gear will be a popular item when the store gets the license to sell it this summer. 340-0146 or tshirtstudio.com .
