Hank Williams, Muddy Waters and The Breeders come to mind when Blue Bones Vintage co-owner Lauren Healy describes the inventory at her Broad Street shop. Healy and partner Jeremy Flora opened an outpost for the previously online-only business inside the Steady Sounds record store on Aug. 16. “If someone is coming in to buy old records, they probably have a lifestyle that [tends toward] more of a vintage aesthetic,” Healy says. Items at the store range from bandanas for $4 to leather jackets for $120 and include vintage Levi’s jeans, minidresses for women and plaid shirts for men. “This used to be the go-to shopping place,” Healy says of the Broad Street corridor that was once home to the Miller & Rhoads department store. “That energy is coming back.”
