Sleigh Bells Ring Print
Well, October is upon us. I must admit, I love Halloween, and I always pull out one or two seasonal decorations to spruce up my apartment around this time of year. The table gets adorned with a glittery pumpkin or two, and I usually look for something fun to hang on my door.
Enter PaperFreckles. This local stationery company, located off Forest Hill Avenue on Richmond's South Side, has a fun alternative to wreaths, with adorable hand-lettered prints you can frame and hang on your door for an upscale, streamlined look with plenty of personality. The Halloween option is a funky design featuring ghosts, a spider web, bats and a teeny-tiny, super-cute skull (yes, I called a skull cute), and the message “Bump in the Night.”
As you’re prepping for the rest of the holidays, a print that says “Home Sweet Home” with fall leaves makes me think of Thanksgiving, and a “Sleigh Bells Ring” print with fresh shades of red and green and a streamlined circular ribbon pattern says holidays without being all tinsel, sleigh-bells and your high- school-guidance-counselor’s-reindeer-sweater.Each print is only $15, and would look great slipped in just a simple frame. Their designs can be purchased online or at several Virginia shops, including Richmond's Blush on Berry (425 Strawberry St.).
