It started with six friends who share a love for the sea. "Doing things that get us close to the water has a pretty significant effect on us," co-owner David Boyce says of Inchoate Co. ( inchoateco.com ), an apparel retailer that opened at 106 Vine St. in April. As the name suggests, the burgeoning business is still learning the ropes and not yet operating as a storefront. Instead, the company is hosting small product-release open houses. At a launch party on April 19, Inchoate's partners introduced their first line of screen-printed T-shirts and tank tops, and on June 21, they presented a screen-printed duffel bag, but the best is yet to come. "One of the driving forces behind what we're doing is to make the perfect pair of men's shorts," Boyce says. "That's the dream."
