Following the success of their Colonial Heights location of the Plato's Closet chain, Christian and Stephanie Tefel opened another women's-clothing resale franchise, Clothes Mentor, in Short Pump in April, the first one in Virginia. While Plato's Closet focuses on clothing and accessories for teens and juniors, Clothes Mentor looks to stock the latest trends for women 25 and older. The 4,000-square-foot shop, located at 1404 W. Broad St., buys and sells gently used women's clothing, sizes 0 to 26. The store specializes in designer purses and carries more than 400 brands, including Ann Taylor, Coach and Motherhood Maternity. "Once you go resale, you never go back," Christian Tefel says.
