For more than 10 years, while Joe La Roque's wife, Sophia, operated Bangles and Beads in Carytown, he worked nights at a local print shop. "It was fine until we had our two children," the 36-year-old North Side resident says. "It just became increasingly hard to work nights." On Feb. 16, La Roque opened Labyrinth Thrift in Dumbarton Square Shopping Center with the help of his brother, Dan. Labyrinth accepts donations and sells gently used clothing, furniture, home décor, sporting goods and more at the 1,800-square-foot shop. "It was something we thought would be good for the community," La Roque says. 269-3374 or labthrift@gmail.com .
