For jewelry designer Valerie Sanson, less has never been more. "You're not supposed to take it seriously," the 49-year-old Fan resident says of her collection of over-the-top necklaces, brooches and cocktail rings. Previously the owner of Lane Sanson, a Carytown home accessories and gift boutique, Sanson will present her jewelry at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on April 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The statement jewelry is sold at the VMFA gift shop, and at She Chester, and ranges in price from $21 to $500. 340-1400 or visit lanesanson.com .
