Melanoma, one of the most dangerous cancer types, starts as a small spot on the skin that grows over time, finally spreading to other organs of the body. If detected early, the cure rate is more than 95 percent. N1 Executive Health Group, a private, member-based medical practice at Levinson Heart Hospital on CJW Medical Center's Chippenham campus, is the only local practice to offer a full-body-scan digital mapping system for moles. The FotoFinder takes 18 to 25 digital images of a patient's skin, rating the potential risk score associated with each mole across the entire body and saving the images to track changes in moles at future visits. "It gives [patients] a high sense of well-being," says Dr. J. Rand Baggesen, the health group's executive director. For more information, call 560-3295 or visit executive.md .
