Modeled after Italy’s “big rides,” the third annual Martin’s Tour of Richmond Gran Fondo on Oct. 4 is a bicycle tour of the Richmond area with four distance options: a standard 101-mile ride (starting at 7:30 a.m.), 29 miles (7:45 a.m.), 58 and 78 miles (9:30 a.m.). Although they’re timed, the rides are not races. In a change of course based on rider feedback, each group will start and finish at the Richmond International Raceway complex this year, says event director Megan Schultz. $40 to $125. 285-9495 or sportsbackers.org.
