Candance Henderson-Alford didn't wear makeup until she was 27 years old. "My dad did not allow us to wear makeup or fingernail polish," the Chesterfield County resident says. "So when I got to a point where I could, I just jumped all the way in."
Now 35, Henderson-Alford has worked as an on-location makeup artist for the past three years, doing bridal and editorial makeup for clients including Virginia Bride magazine. On March 6, she opened the Blush-N-Bronze makeup and airbrush-tanning studio at 1 S. Stafford Ave. The 670-square-foot boutique includes a booth where Henderson-Alford offers custom airbrush tanning starting at $35.
"I wanted it to be elegant and kind of glamorous," she says of the boutique with buttercup-yellow walls and black curtain accents. Stop by on Tuesdays for $25 airbrush tanning specials. 562-4327 or blushnbronze.com .
