For most women, the idea of standing half-naked with their breasts squeezed between two cold glass plates during a mammography is less than inviting. Monument Radiology ( 7231 Forest Ave., 288-8321 ) hopes to make the process more comfortable with its new MicroDose Mammography device, which delivers up to 50 percent less radiation than other digital systems. MicroDose has a curved, warmed scanning plate that scans within five minutes, and patients receive their results before leaving the office. Dr. Dirck Brendlinger of Monument Radiology says he hopes the system will encourage more women to have the screening.Â
