Through a partnership with the nonprofit World Pediatric Project, the Children's Hospital of Richmond at
VCU has treated 69 children from St. Vincent and the Grenadines since 2002. More than 60 medical professionals provided care, both in Richmond and during trips to the Caribbean nation. In March, the governor general of St. Vincent and an official representative of Queen Elizabeth II presented the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to the hospital, the only non-citizen to have received the award.
