A Richmond medical practice has become the first in the United States to transform its facility into a "battleground for infection." Advanced Orthopaedics partnered with the city's Cupron Inc. and Norfolk-based EOS Surfaces to install antimicrobial copper-infused surfaces, previously used only in hospitals, throughout its new space on the St. Francis Medical Center campus. "We have a commitment to enhance well-being by lowering the risk of contamination," says Dr. Kenneth Zaslav, Advanced Orthopaedics' president.
