Local crafter Cindy Hamlin tries to salvage just about anything she can in an effort to live greener. In the case of her coffee cozies, which retail for about $6 at Torman (648-5900) in Shockoe Bottom and Kimberly Ann's (733-2828) in Petersburg, she's not only providing a softer grip, but she's also helping to minimize the waste created by drinkers who grab a new cardboard sleeve and throw it away every day. Hamlin's cozies, made of felt, fabric and vintage buttons she finds at flea markets, also add much-needed cheer to your morning cup o' joe.
