On a visit to a going-out-of-business sale at a custom wallpaper company in Scott's Addition, Mo Karn came across a plastic bag filled with discarded chandelier pieces. "I got inspired by the material," she says of the upcycled jewelry she now makes in her bedroom at The Wingnut, an anarchist collective in Southern Barton Heights. The 27-year old St. Catherine's School graduate started selling the chandelier jewelry along with handmade plastic spider earrings and rubber rat barrettes on her Etsy site ( wingnutwitchcraft.etsy.com ) in August.
