Jewelry designer Aimee Munford taught herself how to make decorative pins out of a bag of jewelry pieces about seven years ago, and she soon moved on to necklaces and earrings. “I’ve always had the need to do something creative,†says the 34-year-old, who studied photography at the Maryland Institute College of Art. “Jewelry was something I can do out of my home at night.†Munford, who works at Need Supply Co., sells her line, Garnett Jewelry, at the Carytown shop, as well as Quirk Gallery and Red Salon. She embellishes the gold and silver necklaces she makes by hand in her Woodland Heights home with vintage trinkets and beads. For more information, call 512-0117 or visit garnettjewelry.com.Â
