It's been about a year since Baggio owner Norma Santamaria overhauled the interior of her Gayton Crossing designer consignment shop, replacing the carpet, knocking out walls and changing the lighting. She says she finally feels like the shop's look and inventory is where she wants it to be.
"What's coming in is better and better and better," Santamaria says, pointing out recent arrivals by Gucci, Chanel, Chloé, Slane & Slane, and Dolce & Gabbana, to name a few. She gets clothes and accessories from Richmond shoppers as well as from ladies in New York and California who hear about her store through word of mouth.
In order to stay abreast of the current styles and pricing on designer apparel, Santamaria travels to New York City several times a year and also hits up the high-end Richmond boutiques. Based on her travels, she says the latest trends are great accessories and sparkle, noting that it's easy to change a subdued outfit from day to evening by adding glitzy cocktail rings or big bracelets, both of which will be key pieces this season.
