As a jewelry maker, Jo Best McClain was familiar with the challenges facing artists trying to sell their work. "When you're creating and you're sitting on inventory, you want to be able to move it," McClain says. "I just felt like we needed more of an outlet." She opened her Fan storefront Cocojo & Co., 119A N. Robinson St., in early September as a brick-and-mortar shop from which local artists can sell jewelry and paintings. The perimeter of the elegant interior is lined with white tables displaying local jewelers' work, and the walls are decorated with paintings from local artists. At the center of the shop, McClain displays her mixed-material line of jewelry made from antique pocket watches. For more information, call 658-4182 or visit designsbycocojo.com .
