RVA MakerFest: Made in RVA
Get ready for RVA MakerFest 2014, a free event featuring creatives from Richmond’s art, science, technology, food, music, crafts and fashion scenes. The event will take place Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Science Museum of Virginia.
It’s all about celebrating creativity and ingenuity in RVA. Take in demonstrations and watch makers at work. See workshops, hear speakers and shop a market full of handmade goods.
Grant Garmezy of Grant Garmezy Glass and Ryan Gothrup of Ryan Gothrup Glass will be there. Check out Big Secret with their laser-etched bottles and laser-burned pictures. Meet the husband and wife team of Kyle Lucia and Johannah Willsey of Phoenix Handcraft and see their ceramic, mosaic, glass and steel pieces.
These are just a few of the makers ready to show off their process, originality, vision and passion.
Meet four “Makers in Action” in these special videos produced by the Martin Agency. Click here to watch clips showcasing their craft and talents. Phoenix Handcraft is one.
Then meet and watch them, and many more innovators, live on the Sept. 27.
