New to Fraîche are pots by local artist Nick Wittkofski. Nick’s wheel-spun vessels are minimal, modern and simply elegant.
They’re available in a variety of sizes and ready for filling with plants, herbs, succulents and even decorative balls. (One of Nick's wide shallow bowls would show these off beautifully.) Lucky bamboo, with its columnar stalks, would look fittingly smart in these pots, too.
Specially fired to withstand cold winters and humid summers, Nick’s pots can be used outdoors year-round. With their understated and imaginative profiles and lightness of looks, they’re a wonderful choice for indoors, as well.
I love the pots’ rich and chalky texture and the unadorned beauty of their natural clay finishes.
Nick is a graduate of VCU’s Department of Craft/Material Studies, and his ceramic pots, now at Fraîche, are worth a close look.
