Quirk used handmade resin table accessories from Northern California artist Tina Frey in this festive setting featuring the shop’s signature colors of pink and gold. “Keeping everything sharp and clean is what we try to do,” says manager Adam Dorland. “Then mix in elements that are fun and have a sense of humor.”

His rustic table setting blends items from his personal collection with new items from the store. “Thanksgiving is all about the comfort of family,” he says. “I don’t think things should be as precious as they would be for a formal dinner setting.”

Hanukkah
“We wanted to give a nod to traditional Hanukkah themes but add a modern twist for an updated look,” says Robyn Framme, manager of Fraîche on the Avenues. Metallic accents, royal blue and an elegant Simon Pearce crystal dreidel hint at the holiday. “We wanted it to be subtle so that all of the pieces could be mixed and matched and used throughout the year,” she says.

“Christmas is a time when tradition is really important to everybody,” says Cackie Trippe McCarty of Glittermoon Vintage Christmas. “We long for the happy memories we had as children, and for me, what better way to do that than with vintage Christmas ornaments and antiques?”

Kwanzaa
Melody Short, an owner of The ARTisan Cafe, says her table setting celebrates ujamaa, one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. “Ujamaa means cooperative economics,” she explains. “Our goal was to showcase the work of the independent artists featured in our shop.”
