Richmond loves Halloween, from North Side to South Side and everywhere in between. Westover Hills is just one of the neighborhoods that makes a Halloween night especially spooky, particularly in the 5000 block of New Kent Avenue.
"One year for Christmas, my husband got me a smoke machine," resident Karen Kincaid Wittich says of the graveyard she creates in front of her house (above left). "We just add to it every year."
Hanover Avenue in the Fan District sets the bar high for the rest of the city, with extremely enthusiastic neighbors and three full blocks closed off for the night. Over in Ginter Park, the sidewalks get so crowded on Seminary Avenue, it's hard for all of the ghosts and ghouls out that night to elbow past each other.
