The Virginia Repertory Theatre will present "A Christmas Story, the Musical," from Nov. 25 through Jan. 1 on the Arenstein Stage at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre, 114 W. Broad St. The musical is based on the iconic Christmas movie about the main character Ralphie and his search for the perfect Christmas present.
Virginia Rep Associate Artistic Director Chase Kniffen is the director for the show. “I love Christmas, and I love this show — not only for its entertainment value but for what it says about family,” Kniffen says. “This musical is huge, with 31 cast members, tap-dancing kids, live band, bloodhounds and a big set. The score incorporates the nostalgia and humor of the movie in a way that heightens the charm and magic of childhood and the holidays.”
$48 to $60 (youth tickets $38 to $50; U-tix for college and high school students $15 with valid student ID).
