"Saturday Night Live" cast member Jay Pharoah is known for stellar impersonations of figures such as President Barack Obama, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson, rapper Kanye West and actor Denzel Washington. The Chesapeake native, who will perform at The National on Jan. 29, has had a regular stint on SNL for the last five years. His first Showtime series, "Can I Be Me?", debuted in August (to mediocre reviews) and he recently hosted the BET Players’ Awards (to better reception). Expect this show to be ripe with his spot-on celebrity impressions and the occasional jab at Richmond, where Pharoah studied business at Virginia Commonwealth University. 7:30 p.m., $20 to $25. 708 E.
