Still from "The Return" courtesy the filmmakers
In partnership with the Virginia Holocaust Museum, the Weinstein JCC is screening the 2014 documentary “The Return.” The film follows four women in Poland creating their own identities with no access to their own heritage in a country now referred to as “the Jewish graveyard.”
Director of Cultural Arts and Jewish Education at the JCC Erin Mahone says the film addresses “Jewish identity in the modern world.” The screening is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, and a discussion will follow. Mahone hopes people leave the screening with more of an understanding “that the impact of the Holocaust is still being felt today.”
