Wiggle the crocodile tail from Peter Pan , run Inspector Gadget into a stop sign and touch alien guts from Pitch Black at the Science Museum of Virginia's "How to Make a Monster," through Sept. 7. The internationally shown exhibition explores the process of animatronics through 36 stations. "[It] starts from the script, which is then followed by design, casting, finishing [and] then putting in the electronics and the puppeteering and bringing it to life," exhibition developer and Academy Award-winning visual effects artist John Cox says. Included with museum admission of $11. 864-1400 or smv.org .
