Grammy-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis will bring his quartet to the University of Richmond on April 11. The Louisiana native has performed or recorded with stars such as his brother Wynton Marsalis, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Sting and The Grateful Dead. His quartet features pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis and drummer Justin Faulkner. In an Associated Press review of their 2012 recording, Four MFs Playin' Tunes, Charles J. Gans writes, "Saxophonist Marsalis leads one of the most cohesive, intense small jazz ensembles on the scene today." Camp Concert Hall. 7:30 p.m. $40.
