Folk-music legend Woody Guthrie's son Arlo has become a celebrated folk singer himself over the course of his 45-year career. He started his career off with a bang thanks to the album Alice's Restaurant . Its title tune, a half monologue, half song runs for 18 minutes and 34 seconds (and occasionally a bit longer when performed live). Guthrie will be bringing his folksy yet political style to the Modlin Center for the Arts on Feb. 12. The performance should cover all the bases — new and old songs, the past, the future, protests, social injustice — you name it. 7:30 p.m. $40, UR students $10. 289-8980 or modlin.richmond.edu . —Paige Baxter
