Who says your St. Patrick's Day revelry has to end come March 18? The 28th Annual Church Hill Irish Festival will take place on March 23-24 in a four-block area in front of St. Patrick Catholic Church at 215 N. 25th St. Wear your finest green garb at this family-friendly fête, which includes a parade on the 24th at 10 a.m. and performances from a lineup of Irish dancers, musicians and bagpipers, including Haze and the Transients, Recklessly Abandoned, and the Janet Martin Band. Younger guests can keep busy with Celtic crafts and games. Don't miss the Irish lasagna, made of layered corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. Or try fare from vendors such as Rosie Connolly's Pub & Restaurant, Alamo BBQ, and more. Adults can enjoy libations provided by event sponsors Guinness and Loveland Distributing. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on both days and is free to attend, but a $5 donation is appreciated. Proceeds will benefit a host of local organizations, including Stone Circle of Friends, Church Hill Crime Watch and St. Patrick Catholic Church. In conjunction with the festival, the second annual Hill Topper 5K will take place on March 24 at 8:15 a.m., along with a kids-only race, the Little Leprechaun Loop. Register at thehilltopper5k.com .
