A hand-carved teak door sets the mood at the entry of the new Free People store in Short Pump Town Center, where maple beams and whitewashed wood plank walls complement the bohemian-style inventory. Free People’s director of retail, Beth Wehagen, says the women’s clothing brand has had its eye on Richmond “as a city with a rich culture and a community with an affinity for art and fashion.” The company’s 96th boutique, which opened June 27, is the first Free People store in Greater Richmond. It will offer a full assortment of Intimately Free People, the brand’s line of bras, underwear, slips and loungewear. Facebook.com/freepeoplerichmond
