Historic Main Street Station host its 11th annual Holiday Open House Friday, Dec. 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will include lights at 6 p.m., music (including Richmond Tuba Christmas, a 100-strong tuba band), carriage rides and an outdoor showing of "The Polar Express."
The 32nd annual Grand Illumination lights up the James Center and surrounding buildings on Dec. 2 from 6 to 7 p.m., complete with teams of bright-shining, decorative reindeer prancing between 9th-12th and Cary streets.
Step back in time and enjoy Maymont’s Old Fashioned Christmas, Dec. 4 from noon to 5 p.m. Celebrate the holidays with mansion tours and carriage rides for $5 per person, $4 for members. 358-7166 or maymont.org/event.
The James River Parade of Lights floats into town Dec. 10 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., featuring holiday music and a lighted boat parade. 717-6688; boaters must register to participate at jrac-va.org.
