Gwar frontman Dave Brockie made a career out of slaughtering sacred cows. Upon news of his passing March 23 at the age of 50, his friends, media types and fans honored his spirit and crass sense of humor with their own twisted tributes to the man and his legacy.
"They used to play on a regular basis at The Metro in Richmond — for one show they were offering free admission to anyone who brought the severed head of one of their parents."

"By the way, Brockie would not be happy if we were being nice about this, but boy did he stink ... He was a pretty amazing guy"
— Presenter Greg Gutfeld on Fox News' Red Eye
"I learned many things from Dave, many of which I am eternally grateful for, and some of which I am deeply ashamed of... Thank you Brockie, for all the crazy sh*t you did — thank God you existed, so you could do it and I didn't have to."
—Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe, Facebook
"I'm guessing he wouldn't have wanted people to get all sad and weepy at his passing. He might was us to break sh*t, but cry? F*ck no. There are many bodily fluids I associate with GWAR, but tears are not one of them."
