Ed Trask (left) and Ryan McGinness examine sketches in McGinness' New York City studio. Trask, the man behind numerous outdoor paintings in Richmond, is one of the coordinators of this month's RVA Street Art Festival, which will allow artists of national renown to work on large canvases for the downtown floodwall and paint on a former power-plant building (see Page 34 for more). McGinness, whose work adorns the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, is creating the largest mural: a 23-by-48-foot piece to be hung near Bottoms Up.
