Yeti Cooler
Are you heading to a college football game this weekend? It's homecoming for the University of Richmond and UVA plays at home against Georgia Tech. The Virginia Tech Hokies are away at Boston College and James Madison University plays William & Mary in Williamsburg.
There’s lots of tailgating to be had. Equip yourself a Yeti, with one of the hardiest coolers on the market. They’re virtually indestructible, and Yeti’s “Tundra 75” ($450) is the perfect size for tailgating. It’s big yet portable – military grade handles make it easy to lift — and armored with 3 inches of cold-retaining insulation and tough-stuff features. Yeti calls it “grizzly proof.”
The “75” model holds 50 cans or bottles, with plenty of room for packing sausage, bratwurst and burgers. The smaller version (shown above) is $300. Both can be found at REI.
I’m digging the desert tan color, but look for white, sky blue and camouflage options.
Yeti also has a line of collegiate branded coolers ready for the game. Tech and UVA versions are available, along with other major football schools. Yeti wants to add more NCAA teams to its line-up of coolers and welcomes suggestions. You can submit your college’s name on their website.
Richmond’s REI store is in Short Pump at 2020 Old Brick Rd. Store hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
