On Nov. 11, 7 p.m. to midnight, the ninth installment of 1708 Gallery’s InLight brings illumination from more than 20 artists to the streets, breweries and shops of Scott’s Addition — the light at the end of Election Week.
Curated by Ellina Kevorkian, artistic director of residency programs at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska, the event features San Franciscan Jon Bernson’s “Goddess Crystal,” a multimedia sculptural glass piece including repurposed video and deconstructed soundtracks, and an illuminated balloon project by Richmonder Lucy Gillis for which 54 balloons will circulate among the audience. The whole shebang begins with the traditional handmade Lantern Parade.
Free.
