For 10 years and counting, the Gorman family has invited foodies and wine gurus alike to their Annual Oyster Roast at Cardinal Point Vineyard and Winery. Against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this family-owned and -operated winery will celebrate Virginia-made wine and food from noon to 5 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 10 with oysters from Rappahannock River Oyster Co. paired with selections from their vineyard.
"Everything is a celebration of Virginia," says Sarah Gorman, the winery's business manager. "You can't get more home grown — the food comes straight out of the Chesapeake watershed, [and] the grapes come from our own backyard." Gorman's brother, winemaker Tim Gorman, will debut his most recent experiment — a hopped Chardonnay.
