L'Opossum's creative and skillful menu, along with its outrageous and eccentric décor, has charmed Richmond since the restaurant's opening last summer. Now, it's charmed Southern Living. The national magazine just announced this year's top 30 restaurants in the South, naming the Oregon Hill gem among them. It's the only Virginia restaurant to make the list.
"This is so wonderful and exciting," owner David Shannon says of the mention. "We just hit one year on Aug. 5, so it is a great reward for all of my team's work. My staff won this for L'Opossum."
Southern Living consulted with a panel of acclaimed chefs that included Sean Brock, Donald Link and Billy Allin, to choose this year's winners. Find the full list here.
