Update from police: As of 6 p.m. Saturday, seven people had been arrested on charges ranging from possession of a stolen weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon to disorderly conduct and wearing a mask in public. No injuries were reported. On Sunday, Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney released a statement saying, "The people of our city showed this weekend that we can rise above hate and violence. And while we may have difficult days and conversations ahead of us, I am confident we can come together as a community to build a better city for all."
Marching on Monument
A pro-Confederate-heritage group that demonstrated on Monument Avenue on Saturday was met by a large gathering of counter-protesters who marched from the Maggie Walker statue to Stuart Circle.
