Chesterfield County-based Swedish Home Dash & Delivery will shop, deliver and assemble IKEA products for up to 50 percent less than what the furnishings company charges for delivery alone. Co-owner Kim Williams opened the business with her husband, Bernard, in February after a friend with a similar business in Knoxville, Tenn., recommended it.
“I’ve got to learn a whole new language,” the former stay-at-home mom says of the EKTORP sofas, MALM bed frames and UNG DRILL mirrors she delivers in the Richmond region. “They’re fun products,” she says.
