Keep an eye out for the big pink truck.
The next time you’re strolling through Carytown, keep an eye out for the big pink truck that’s frequently parked near Cary Court. Opened just a couple of weeks ago by Jordan Stewart, who also owns brick-and-mortar boutique, The Jewelry Box at 913 Grace St., the truck is packed with all kinds of baubles, and it's ready to move around town.
Stewart’s mother suggested trying out the truck after seeing something similar on TV. The two worked to convert it into a mobile selling spot with shelving for showing off the fun inventory. Stewart even recently installed a solar panel to power the lights.
None of the funky earrings, bracelets and necklaces on the truck are priced above $12, and there are items as low as $2. Right now, Stewart is parking the truck in Carytown pretty frequently, but she hopes to start visiting college campuses in the fall and even packing up and driving to private parties.
If you want to find out where the truck is going to be or invite it to an event, you can contact Stewart at 245-9746 or shoot her an email. You can also follow the truck on Twitter (@JBXonwheels) and Instagram, where you’ll find updates about where it is and what’s for sale.
